Three days late...

...but the El-P show was excellent. The opening acts weren't awful (though Hangar 18 was the only act that I thought was worth actually having seen), but I didn't come for them. The set opened with Dibbs dropping Gary Jules' Mad World (you may know this track as that song at the end of Donnie Darko). All the indie hipsters in the crowd started patting on the back for knowing the song and singing along. They slipped in some post-apocalyptic guitar and synth action mid-way through. It seems like they played every track off of the new album, plus Deep Space 9mm and an encore of Stepfather Factory. There is a serious fear in my mind that no other show this year will compare, including seeing Sage and Buck 65 in July.
