Friday: this was a bad day. a bad bad bad day. we were informed when we came in for training on how to run reports and queries that we would be changing our schedule slightly. here's the deal: our training was on a beta-version of the database we're going to be moving to. they'd improved a lot of the transaction functionality and the reporting as well as making the interface look much more userfriendly. the problem is that it was buggy as hell. so buggy, in fact, that they're going to take it out of beta-testing and rework a lot of it. meaning we spent a week of training learning a piece of software that we might not even use. blah. so we had to spend friday training on the current version. this does not bode well.
the night involved sitting around the hotel room relaxing. the day had been too long and exhausting to want to go do anything.
Saturday: Susan and i wandered into Boston and went to the aquarium for the day. good times. i took pictures, but with a disposable camera. eventually i'll get them developed and scanned in to share. :) afterwards, we went to an Irish pub called The Black Rose. great atmosphere, live music (a folky guy on guitar, doing mostly early rock folk covers), good steak, and apparently the Guinness on tap was tasty since Susan debated a third one.
Tomorrow: about 6 hours of airport hopping in store for us, plus the 2 hours spent at the airport tomorrow to make sure we get checked in ok. blah. i've got a book, my new leatherbound journal, and plenty of cds to keep me entertained.
