my body dwells amongst you, my spirit lost in the cold of space...

Does anybody feel
the way I do?
Is there anybody out there?
Are you hearing me?

I believe in you
Will you believe in me?
Or am I alone
in this hall of dreams?

I believe in you
You believe in me
But I have no trust
in anything
Somehow I'm always
always falling over me

i think my penchant for being an audiophile started a few years ago when this damnable writer's block set in. as soon as i couldn't vacate my demons through writing, i had to find something else that expressed just the way i felt. you'd think that, since there's a finite amount of music available to any one person, you'd never be able to find a song to accurately express your inner turmoil at almost any moment in time. maybe that's contributed to the size of my cd collection, to my mp3 downloading habits when i had the resources to do so. music speaks to that primal voice within me that demands i expel the emotion within in some fashion. like some OCD ridden beast, i appease that hidden master as best i can with music because i don't know how to scribble out what it longs to say. and so i jack in, space in, lose myself, rise from the ashes renewed, only to repeat the process again further down the line.

this is why i own 172 cds, not including what i've got on mp3 discs. an incapacitating lack of self-expression.
