and now, with it being the day after, every patriotic office shmuck who joined in on the furor that was patriot's day has taken the flag off of their car and retreated back into normality. too bad the creepy folk in their 70's oldsmobiles who drive up and down the street throughout the day to seemingly random destinations didn't recieve the memo that their spray on patriotism wasn't needed today. while out at lunch, this white trash (i come from white trash and can still claim to be white trash, so i feel justified in using the term) couple nearly clipped the truck in front of me because they couldn't see anything that was behind them. why you ask? they had two "classroom sized" flags hanging from the windows of their olds and the back window was painted with shoe polish, proudly displaying a message saying "Burn Bin Louden! :) Patrot's Day!" my distaste for patriotism as a pop culture thing to do aside, their writing ability was nearly as atrocious as their driving. *shakes his head* i'd intended to leave well enough alone and let everyone celebrate how they wanted yesterday, but these "lovely" individuals carried over into today and nearly caused a traffic accident in an attempt to "celebrate" this nation.
nothing of note to mention today. work work work until i leave for the evening. my car is still broke and there's still no explanation for it. my sister's bf is supposed to be hunting down a diagnostic key for it so we can figure out what's up. looks like the trip to McPherson to visit Heather is a definite thing now.
i hate it when i order something and i get caught up in watching it in transit via UPS's website. i got a gift for a friend and "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" for me that shipped out tuesday morning from baltimore. theoretically, that should mean i'd have it by the end of the week, even though Amazon says to expect it next Friday. at 4:30 this morning, it left TN on it's way here. assuming Mapquest provides a reasonably accurate amount of time, even if it gives bad directions, it should've taken about 9 hours to get into the city, meaning it's been in town for an hour now. no arrival scan. assume they stopped for gas and a quick bite to eat between here and there, then it should be getting into the city about now. will i see it tomorrow? unlikely. will it get lost someplace and be the first time i've had an unreliable order from Amazon only because it has a gift with it? probably. *shakes his fist* I posted and refreshed the tracking page again to see that it arrived in town at 2:30. 2 minutes after i posted. hopefully that means i'll see it tomorrow morning. :)
