First, and most importantly, Sage Francis will be touring from late May until mid july. Dates have not yet been announced, but he says that Buck 65 and Alias will be touring with him (Alias is going to be performing with the live band backing up Sage along with Tom Inhaler). Nothing will stand between me and attending one of these shows. As soon as the tour date list is posted, plans will begin to be formed.
Anyway. Ever feel as though the last week of your life was a series of dream-like bizarre experiences that couldn't have possibly been your life?
While driving in to work on Thursday, the power-steering on my car went kerplunk. I was only a few miles from home, so I swung the beast around and returned home. My mom and I ended up going to lunch, discussed car shopping, and I borrowed her vehicle for the afternoon so that I could put in a few hours at work.
Friday morning was spent at a Kia dealership eyeballing vehicles. My main focus on buying a vehicle was that it get good gas mileage, have a good warranty, air conditioning, cheap, and comfortable for my giant legs. I decided upon a Rio since it met all of my requirements (plus I like the little boxy car, even if it isn't all that sexy of a car). Now I've caught some flak from a certain jerkfaced person for buying a Rio, but I'd done my research beforehand and read plenty of reviews about the vehicle touting it as an excellent sub-compact and that one should not confuse it with the Rio of 2001 when they came out and were kinda craptacular. I wrapped up the paperwork for the car on Saturday morning, putting myself further into debt. On the other hand, I have a BRAND NEW car with the warranty from hell.
Had you told me last Monday that I'd have a brand new car today, I'd have looked at you funny. As it is, I'm still looking for my 241,000 mile beast in the parking lot. This will end eventually, I'm sure.
