|I'm an open book, but I'm real shy...

How do you tell someone who considers you their best friend that you have no intention of making travel arrangements and taking time off so that you can attend their wedding that you think is a mistake? Denver is a long drive across the Kansas plains and flying there and taking cabs is also out of the question. After months and months of giving excuses as to why I probably wouldn't be able to go, I quit the mutual fund company and have lost my credible excuse. I probably shouldn't email her saying "Hey, just thought I should let you know that I question your sanity as a human being, much less as someone getting married to a guy who knocked up your ex-roommate while the two of you were still dating. Oh, and I won't be coming to your wedding either because that's quite a haul for one person to make to go to an event that they think will be a trainwreck. It was nice knowing you!" I'm a callous dick, but that's bad even for me. Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll read this and flame me to death! I don't want to hurt her, but the only way that's going to happen is if I go to her wedding, which I'm not going to do. Period. I doubt "OOPS! I forgot!" will be a viable excuse...
