Never attempt to reason with people who know they are right.
It was slow going at first, but I'm really starting to get into God Emperor Of Dune. I enjoy sci-fi books that don't read as sci-fi books. Take out the laserguns, spaceships, and a few other minor things and it turns out it's simply a book of political theory and anthropological analysis. Herbert brings up some highly interesting ideas and makes a legion of quotable statements about Leto's view of how humanity actually functions. I may have to dive back into philosophy when I'm done with this book.
