Random quotes from our wonderful new Prez...

"Rarely is the question asked:
Is our children learning?"
--George W. Bush is right. That question is rarely asked, probably because most Americans know the difference between the singular and plural forms of a verb.
(Quote is from a Bush statement in Florence, S.C. on 1/11/00)

"My [tax cut] plan is realistic because it avoids meaningless 15-year projections."
--George W. Bush goes to extraordinary lengths to defend his tax cut plan. Imagine a life insurance company telling you that its financial picture is "realistic" because it hasn't bothered to project death rates, filings of claims, and sales revenues in the years ahead. Kind of crazy, isn't it?
(Quote is from a Bush speech in Iowa, 12/1/99)

"They are attacking women and children, aren't they?"
--Only three days before George W. Bush was to deliver a major foreign policy speech, he told a reporter during a phone interview that the U.S. should take action "if the Russian government attacks innocent women and children in Chechnya." When the reporter asked if, in fact, that wasn't already the case, Bush moved the phone away from his mouth and asked this question to his aides nearby.
(Quote is from the Associated Press, 11/17/99)

The following are all straight out of the horse's ass...um...i mean straight from Dubya himself...yeah...

"Laura and I really don't realize how bright our children is sometime until we get an objective analysis."
--Meet the Press, April 15, 2000

Once again Dubya, learn proper grammer...it's not prudent to be president and yet speak like a kid in remedial english.

"I was raised in the West. The west of Texas. It's pretty close to California. In more ways than Washington, D.C., is close to California."
--Los Angeles Times, April 8, 2000

Ooooh, geography with Georgy...

"We want our teachers to be trained so they can meet the obligations; their obligations as teachers. We want them to know how to teach the science of reading. In order to make sure there's not this kind of federal cufflink."
--Fritsche Middle School, Milwaukee, March 30, 2000

how to teach the science of reading? huh? What does that have to do with his cufflinks? I'm confused George...

"If you're sick and tired of the politics of cynicism and polls and principles, come and join this campaign."
--Hilton Head, S.C., Feb. 16, 2000

Nuff said.

"This is Preservation Month. I appreciate preservation. It's what you do when you run for president. You gotta preserve."
--Speaking during Perseverance Month at Fairgrounds Elementary School in Nashua, N.H.

Um...excuse me? i know you were saying something George, i just don't seem to understand what you were saying. Maybe it was just me.

"I think anybody who doesn't think I'm smart enough to handle the job is underestimating."
--U.S. News & World Report, April 3, 2000

In other words, if you thought my stupidity was massive before, wait til you see what i do next. And besides, a trained monkey could be the president...hey, did you know I look kinda like that monkey in those books...what's his name...the one that's curious all the time...Curious Bob? no, that's not it...Gerald i think...oh well, i look like him though. =)

::hangs his head in shame that he was born an american:: Home of the proud and the free...not for much longer though
