As often happens when one is lonely and in need of affection, I met someone many moons ago and allowed them to get under my skin. And, as is occasionally the case in life, I've determined that this was not the best course of action. In four hours, the Super Shuttle is picking me up to take me to the airport for my first visit home since May. I am both excited and dreading this all at the same time. It'll be good to see everyone and to be home for a week, but I feel like I may have overstretched myself with my schedule while I'm there. Oh well.

So seriously, I mean to update this thing, I promise. It just never seems to happen. Brief update:
- On the way to the beach for the weekend followed by a week in Colorado for work and vacation with mine gf.
- Oh, I've got a girlfriend. We've been dating for a little over a month. I kinda dig her a lot.
- Work is good. Hectic, but good.
- NYC continues to be great.
- Helped the lovely and talented Sharon "Mama" Spell a couple nights ago by doing sound at her comedy show and things seemed to go well. I may end up doing this more frequently and I'm excited about that prospect.
- Caught David Cross, Wyatt Cenac, and Nick Thune last night. Pretty hilarious. Wyatt Cenac has two "yo mama" jokes that kill my thermometer one, though not in that "OH DAMN!" kind of way.
- Meg gets here in 10ish days. This makes me happy as I maybe need a reminder of KC in my life, at least for a few days.
- Um. That's it. I have to run.

So it turns out that we've had a pretty good idea that Saddam was lying about having WMDs since 2004. Of course it'd be irresponsible of our leaders to acknowledge that at the time, or to lend any credence to the ravings of a mad man. Better to just hand him over so he could be killed by zealots in his homeland. The fact that I find information gathered through the interrogation of Saddam Hussein more credible than information given by Dick Cheney on Meet The Press is either a telling statement about me or the quality of our former leadership. You have your own opinions, I'm sure.

Stealing an amputee's wheelchair is neither classy, nor funny, not even if you did it so you could see him go around in circles in a regular wheelchair. For shame.

We inch ever closer to a new album from Steve Burns and this makes me happy.

I didn't want to comment on his passing directly, but I find it interesting that Michael Jackson nearly took the internet with him when he died yesterday. Personally, I didn't find out until I got a text message about 45 seconds before my date showed up last night.
